Protect and Expand Workers’ Rights

Every worker has a right to not be harassed, intimidated, or retaliated against. All workers should have a right to speak up and have a voice at work!

Ensuring Everyone Can Retire with Dignity

Every worker deserves to have the opportunity to retire with dignity and respect. I will work to preserve, protect, and expand Medicare and all retirement plans for Michiganders.

Pass an ESP Bill of Rights!

Non-teaching staff at schools DESERVE respect and it is time we pass a Minimum Standards Bill of Rights for them! We owe it to all of the cafeteria workers, bus drivers, secretaries and administrative assistants, custodians, maintenance, paraprofessionals, school nurses, tutors, and to many others who dedicate their lives to our students!

Youth Drug Addiction

Anthony sees, firsthand, the impacts of tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, and other substances on our youth. We must develop a Task Force to focus on youth drug addition with experts from a variety of disciplines to suggest legislative solutions, and then implement the recommendations, to address this ever-expanding problem.

Community Policing

Police take an oath to “protect and defend” but they far too often target some individuals more than others for similar offenses. We must remember that police are local public servants and should reflect the needs of their community. Anthony will work to pass legislation to restructure police from compliance to community supports. Police should be trusted, not feared.

Prison Reform

The United States has the most incarcerated individuals and the highest recidivism rate. We must support corrections officers as well as inmates by working to reduce recidivism by looking to other countries to change current practices.

Promote Hometown Schools

Our hometown schools educate over 90% of our students. They are designed to educate ALL students, not just those they want to. Anthony will always protect our local hometown schools and ensure transparency and accountability for charter schools. Charter schools who receive public funds must use their public funds for educating students and uplifting educator pay and resources, not corporate wage increases with no transparency!

Supporting Rural, Tribal, and Low Income School Districts

Rural and low income school district are disproportionately funded due to property taxes and large land area. We must fix the funding formula to ensure all schools receive the funding they need, not the funding their population can afford.

Clean Air and Water

Anthony will work to ensure accountability for all municipalities in adhering to the strictest of clean air and water! No citizen should be drinking contaminated water or breathing in toxic air!

Continue Funding Lasting Repairs to Highways and Bridges!

Our highways and bridges were left for far too long. Anthony knows that you must use high quality materials and labor for lasting repairs. Spending the money now will reduce long-term costs later. Anthony will work to continue funding lasting repairs to our state infrastructure while focusing on environmentally friendly solutions.

Accountability for Lack of Jobs Created

When businesses and corporations take our tax dollars as a promise to create jobs, I will work to hold them accountable by taking the tax break back for those jobs that don’t materialize! We should not be forced to foot the bill and face reduced services for the lack of jobs as promised!

Strengthen Transparency Laws

Michigan has the some of the worst government transparency laws in the country. Anthony will work to pass the Sunshine Act and align the Executive, Judicial, and Legislative Branch transparency rules to ensure all branches can be FOIA’d unless the information is of state security or trade interests.

Protecting Basic Rights

Anthony will ensure to stand up to any attacks on our rights to free speech, of and from religion, and to peacefully assemble!

Protect the Right to Vote!

Anthony will ensure Prop 2 of 2022 is not undermined in any way from how the voters adopted it! This includes opposing any Citizen Initiative or Legislative Constitutional Amendment to make it harder for people to vote, especially women!

Protect the Right of Individuals to Make Deeply Personal Decisions

Regardless of your personal beliefs or opinions, government should not be telling any consenting adult what to do with their own body or who they can be with. The government should not be telling any consenting adult who to love, who they can marry, or tell anyone when, how, or if to have a child!
